Between February and September 2025, the Eritrean Humanitarian Organisation (EHO) carried out a life-saving intervention in Juba, South Sudan, to support vulnerable Eritrean refugees who fled the war in Sudan. Many of these refugees were unable to afford urgent medical care, especially treatment for malaria, which remains one of the deadliest diseases in the region.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, EHO provided USD 4,000 to cover medical expenses for refugees in need. This support was made possible in collaboration with the Gospel Light Fellowship Church of Juba, which helped facilitate the program. We were deeply moved to receive a heartfelt appreciation letter from the church, expressing gratitude for EHO’s role in saving lives.

Our intervention was not only financial—it was powered by people. Over five dedicated volunteers, including one nurse and one medical doctor, worked tirelessly on the ground, ensuring that medicines were purchased, patients received treatment, and families found hope during a very difficult time. We extend our sincere thanks to these volunteers, whose commitment made all the difference
Progress reports, financial receipts, and photos from the field have been shared with our Board. These documents provide full accountability and demonstrate the direct impact of EHO’s support for Eritrean refugees at a time of urgent need.
The USD 4,000 allocation was directed toward covering medical expenses for vulnerable groups, including mothers, single mothers, and children. This funding ensured that life-saving healthcare reached those most at risk.
A Call to Action
