In a continued effort to support Eritrean refugees, EHO has completed its second donation to the People of Afar at the Asaita refugee camp. The second aid delivery took place during the week of July 10th, and over 800,000 ETB has been used to support our Eritrean Refugees. EHO team members travelled from Mekelle and Addis Ababa to facilitate the distribution. This donation marked a significant milestone in EHO’s ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable refugees across the region. The second instalment reached a diverse group of beneficiaries, including individuals with disabilities, single mothers, the elderly, children, and ten refugees living with HIV.

Despite confronting extreme heat and challenging weather conditions, staff maintained professionalism and dedication throughout the process. Testimonial videos included in the documentation capture the team’s efforts and the positive feedback from community members. The testimonial videos illustrate the community’s appreciation and the tangible effects of the aid. Despite these efforts, over 15,000 Eritrean refugees still reside in Asaita camp and remain in urgent need of continued support.
